CPW Week 6 ACT Prep Round 2 Subject: 11th Grade English • Learning Intentions - Today, I am going to practice College Readiness Standards: • Conventions of Punctuation 16-19 • Word Choice in Terms of Style, Tone, Clarity, and Economy 28-32 • Topic Development in Terms of Purpose and Focus 24-27 • Word Choice in Terms of Style, Tone, Clarity, and Economy 20-23 • Word Choice in Terms of Style, Tone, Clarity, and Economy 24-27 • Organization, Unity, and Coherence 24-27 SQUADS • Success Criteria – I am successful if I can • use appropriate punctuation for two closely related ideas • revise wordy sentences for clarity • sharpen the focus of a sentence • use the phrase most consistent with the style of the essay • delete synonymous material • choose a transition word to connect sentences

  2. 11th Grade English Directions • You will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to work on each question individually. • There will be a stopwatch timer included on each slide for the teacher to set so you can keep track. • After you have completed each question individually, you will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to work as a group and decide on the best answer and rationale.
