Players do not try out for a specific position, such as Attack, Midfield, Face Off Specialist or Long Stick Midfield. • Players will be scored on skills such as Passing, Cradling, Shooting, Lacrosse IQ, and Athleticism. The first day of evaluations will be drills that will showcase a player's lacrosse skills. The second day of evaluations will be a scrimmage. • Players are required to attend both days of evaluations, this is mandatory.

  24. EVALUATION PROCESS FOR GIRLS AND BOYS 14U AND 12U • Evaluations (Continued) • The outside evaluators will select the A team • No adjustments will be made to the A team selected by the outside evaluators • If there are 3 or more teams at an age level, one A team then equal B teams will be formed • Teams will be posted by end of day Friday May 3rd. • The board’s evaluation committee will select the equal B teams, based on evaluation scores and input from age group coordinators, past and current coaches. • NO spectators are allowed during the evaluations • Players not available for evaluations • Players not able to participate in evaluations for medical reasons will be provided an alternate evaluation process per our current policy document. • Players unable to attend any of the evaluation days for reasons other then medical, will automatically be placed on a B team.

  25. NEW - Volunteer Requirements • In order to have a successful program we need a lot of volunteers to help out not only during the season but during the off season. • For the 2019 season, we will begin to utilize the DIBS system on the Sportsngin website to post the volunteer opportunities and track volunteers. • For the 2020 season, the Rosemount Youth Lacrosse Board has made the decision to implement mandatory volunteer hours. • Each family will be required to turn in a volunteer deposit check prior to uniform handouts. These checks will ONLY be cashed if you do NOT complete your volunteer requirements. If you complete your volunteer requirements, your check will be shredded at the end of the season. • 1 Player = 2 Volunteer Hours, a $200.00 Volunteer Deposit • 2 + Players = 4 Volunteer Hours, a $300.00 Volunteer Deposit

  26. Fundraising for 2019 • 4th Annual Golf Tournament • Sunday May 19, 2019 at Southern Hills Golf Course • This fundraiser is hosted with the RHS Boys Lacrosse Booster Club. • Proceeds are split 50/50 • We are looking for parents to volunteer to be on the golf committee which is comprised of youth parents and HS parents. • Leprechaun Days Tournament - the Irish Challenge • July 24, 2019 (Boys) and July 25, 2019 (Girls) • Boys 3v3 Chumash Tournament • Girls 4v4 Tournament • We are looking for parents to volunteer to be on this planning committee • Additional in season fundraising opportunities to come!

  27. FINANCE UPDATE • 2019 fee summary: • Addition of $10 facility fee implemented by Rosemount Area Athletic Association for all sports • Addition of $3 due to increased uniform costs for all age groups, excluding 9/10 boys and girls where the high school provides uniforms • Addition of $10 for 8U/10U spring due to increase in expenses for Dakota Lacrosse • Addition of $34 for evaluations for 12U girls due to the creation of A and B teams for 2019 • 10U, 12U, 14U girls increased to better align with the boys registration fees • We are projecting a net overall loss for 2019 with losses at nearly every age group. The losses are typically associated • when there are smaller teams and the fixed costs are allocated to fewer players, such as evaluations, tournament fees, governing body fees, paid coaches, indoor time, etc • Fundraising and donations are invested in the program to benefit everyone: • Equipment (nets, goalie equipment, etc.) • Coaching development

  28. FINANCE UPDATE • Rosemount registration fees are comparable to neighboring communities:

  29. ALLOCATION OF PLAYER FEES

  30. All Irish Family Night • Join varsity players during their high tempo and competitive practice. All youth players will go through dynamic warm ups, learn skills for their individual positions during positional time compete in odd man situations during the competition time, and finally learn the Irish tactics during the full team tactics/scouting session of practice. • Be paired with a varsity big brother during practice. • “All Irish Family Night” will end with Irish Fest competitions in which teams will compete 3 v 3 in mixed aged teams so everyone has a chance to be on a team with a varsity player. • The coaches and varsity players would like all Rosemount Youth players to attend the “All Irish Family” night. They want to have everyone together on the field at the same time to celebrate being a part of the Irish Lacrosse family.

  31. OTHER SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES • Boys Lacrosse Face Off and Shooting Camp (grades 3-9) • Improve and develop two of the most crucial lacrosse skills that have a large impact on your game! During the first half of camp, players will work on the fundamentals of a lacrosse shot from multiple dimensions of the lacrosse field. The second half of the camp will focus on the intricate art of the face off. Learn multiple moves and counter moves to the face off. Players will see the impact on their game by taking more shots and more face offs than they will see all season! • Boys Lacrosse 3 on 3 Fast Break Camp (grades 3-9) • In the game of lacrosse, over 70% of goals are scored during fast break and odd man situations. Learn the skills and techniques needed to master fast break offensive and defensive situations. Players will be trained by a camp staff made up of local high school coaches and varsity players who have over 30 years of experience combined. Daily sessions will include odd man situations, fast break drills, fast whistle restarts and small game 3 v 3 competitions. Small games situations will increase the number of repetitions and touches you will experience with the ball. Each daily session will conclude with tournament. Prizes will be awarded.

  32. OTHER SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES • Boys Lacrosse Defence and Goalie Camp (grades 3-9) • Focus on footwork, stick positioning, checks, and stick work for both goalies and defensemen.
