Teacher of the Month • Incentives for Teacher of the month includes: • One month duty free • Classroom coverage for one full day or two class periods • Certificate of Excellence • Recognition at the monthly staff meeting • Picture displayed on the announcements and website • Recognition on the school newspaper and/or Monday Musings • Picture and demographic information displayed on a display case devoted specifically to our Teacher of the Month • Paraphernalia

Reflection: Lessons Learned Next Steps • It is critical to recognized the accomplishments of teachers • School culture and climate are critical to establish at any school • Recognition must align with teacher standards to re-enforce principal expectations (State Expectations) • Re-evaluate how the nomination instrument is used • More information on the teacher standards (training/professional development) • More accountability on ensuring the incentive are rewarded to the teacher Reflection/Next Steps
