  1. Manual PowerPoint Assessment Here’s your chance to show what you’ve learned about manuals. You will be writing a manual and creating a PowerPoint presentation, which you will present to the class. You will receive three grades for this project.

  2. 1) Manual Grade: • Write your manual with at least 5 steps. • In each step, fully and clearly explain the process. • Edit your manual for spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.

  3. 2) PowerPoint Grade: • Start your PowerPoint with a title slide, including your name, date, and class period. • Put each step on its own slide. • Insert at least two pictures into your PowerPoint. • Make at least one slide in your PowerPoint have a colored background. • Be sure your PowerPoint is neat and attractive.

  4. 3) Presentation Grade: • Use the computer and projector to show your own PowerPoint to the class. • Speak loudly and clearly when presenting. • Make eye contact with your audience.

  5. You may write your manual to tell explain anything that you know how to do. Here are a few suggestions: • Cook a meal (not peanut butter and jelly) • Play a sport • Perform a gymnastic or dance move (e.g., back handspring or pirouette) • Perform a skateboarding or bike trick • Perform a magic trick • Play a game (an outside game, a card game, a board game) • Play a video game (or perform a certain trick within a game) • Play an instrument

Project Timeline: • Monday 5/10 ClassroomCreate manual rough draft • Tuesday 5/11 Computer Lab Create basic PowerPoint with the words of your manual • Wednesday 5/12 Computer Lab Add colored background and pictures • Thursday 5/13 Computer Lab Edit and finalize your PowerPoint • Friday 5/14 Classroom Begin presentations

Because we are only allowed a limited number of days in the computer lab, it is very important that you use this time wisely. • If you are absent or not in class, and are not able to complete your project in time, you will need to make arrangements to finish (this may need to be before or after school). • It is your responsibility to take care of finishing your project.
