  1. Comm Arts Day 6Bell Ringer (computers are needed today) Log in to your computer. While you wait for the computer to upload please make a T chart in your bell ringer section. On one side write What I did well with my conclusion. What I need to improve on for my hero letter. Then log into edmodo and find your graded Conclusion. If you did not submit your conclusion now would be the time to do it. You may also edit and reply to any comments I made. (4 mins)

  2. Learning Goal and Essential Question • Learning Goal: • I can make my Ideas are stronger when supported by sufficient relevant details. • I can use facts to support opinions. • I can analyze how heroes interact with or impact others and their surroundings in literature and real life. • Essential Question: What makes a good writer?

  3. The Hero Letter (6 mins) • Please open your electronic copy of the FCAS on edmodo. This is your guide as you write your hero letter. • Please note you need to highlight, bold, underline, and use italics in different parts of this letter. PLEASE do so. • You will write them in google docs and share with me. • When you do peer editing you will share your documents with one another through google docs and leave comments: 3 glows and 3 grows.

  4. Look at the FCAS (2 mins) • How do I write my letter? • What do I highlight or underline? • Where do I write it?

  5. What do I do now? (18 mins) • You need to finish research if you are in need of any more facts. • Begin/Continue writing your letter to your hero. Remember to follow all your FCAS. • Do this independently and remember to ask Mrs.Thompson for help as necessary. This is a test grade—Summative assessment. • Continuously check that you are following the FCAS. • Please type it in google docs. If google docs does not work for you please type in Microsoft word and save to your hdrive.

  6. Exit Ticket (5 mins) 3-2-1: 3 things you did well on your letter. 2 great facts you used. 1 question you still have or something you need to work on for tomorrow.
