  1. The Earth and Moon By: Madeline Osborn

  2. THE SIZE Moon Earth The Earth is 12,742 kilometers in diameter. About four moons equals 1 Earth. The Moon is 3,474 kilometers in diameter. Or 27%/about 1 fourth the size of the Earth.

  3. Earths Landforms happy pinnaple Earth has many landforms. Earth has valleys, plains, plateaus , mountains , hills, and glaciers . We live by many landforms.

  4. Moons Craters Moon has many craters . There are about 300,000 craters on the moon . There are craters on the moon because asteroids and other rocks that have hit the moon.

  5. Gravity The Moon has 6 times less the gravity than the Earth. So if you are moon your weight is a lot less than it is on Earth. The earth has 6 times more gravity than the Moon. That’s why we look like were standing sideways on Earth but, really gravity is holding us so we won’t fall out.

  6. Weather and Atmosphere Moon Earth The earth has nitrogen , argon , carbon dioxide, oxygen , and water vapor. The moon has no atmosphere or weather so if you step on the moon your footprint will be there unless another person steps on it.

  7. Water There is ice on the moon witch is just frozen ice. 70 % of the earth is covered with water. That means 20 % more water than half!

  8. Weatheringand Erosion Moon Earth Weathering breaks down rocks and minerals , then the rock can be transported through erosion. Water slides in cracks and freezes. This is called freeze thaw. When the water freezes it also breaks down.

  9. The moons time to rotate on it’s axis is 27.5 days. Earth only takes 24 hours creating our day and night. Time to rotate on it’s axis

  10. Earths day The earths day is 24 hours. Also our earths time to rotate on its axis is about 24 hours creating our night and day.

  11. Rotation The moon takes 29.3 days to rotate around earth . This creates the phases of the moon. The earth takes 365 days to revolve around the sun. this creates our year.

  12. Tides When the moon is closer to one side of the earth the water pulls closer which makes that side a bigger tide. The other side is also pulling towards the moon which makes that side smaller. So basically wherever the moon is that tide is larger while the other tide (the opposite side) is smaller.

  13. Seasons happy Seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth . When earth is tilted closer to the sun we are in the middle of summer . When we are tilted farther away from the sun we are in the middle of winter.

  14. Thanks for watching!
