  6. Course Description-Catalog • The focus of this course is on the development and management of business database systems. It provides the theoretical concepts as well as practical approaches to planning, development, test and documentation of business database systems. Project planning and control approach is used to relate database administration to information systems management. Students are required to develop, implement, and evaluate a business database system. PgP MIS 342 Access

Course Description-1 • Investigate database fundamentals • Design, implementation, control, evaluation, and strategic use of modern, computer-based information systems-mainly Access2010, but also MS SQL server and MySQL • Apply concepts to business data processing, office automation, information reporting, and decision-making PgP MIS 342 Access

  9. Materials • eBook or paper copy • Microsoft Access 2010 Comprehensive by Adamski, Finnegan, all Chapters • You are expected to read the material in the book and do exercises PgP MIS 342 Access

Note on Macbooks! • Access 2013, Expression Web only available on Windows. • MacBooks not recommended for this class-if you insist you must install VMware Fusion and a Windows 7 virtual machine.
