InP Window Gain Suppression for Tunable Wavelength Converter

This study investigates the function of InP window gain suppression in a SOA for a tunable wavelength converter. The eye diagram at 2.5GHz and 5.0GHz probing wavelengths with pumping wavelengths at 1560nm and 1570nm are analyzed. The curves of the tunable laser for pulse current are presented, along with identified issues and potential future work.

  6. The Curves of tunable laserof TWC for pulse current

  7. Issues • Tunable laser can not work under cw current injection • Threshold current is higher and output power is lower(including SOA) • More time is needed to find and solve these problems

  8. The picture of all device

  9. Future Work • Measure the devices which have been made continuously. • Analyze the problems of the devices and solve them. • Improve the processing and design of TWC • Provide the high quality TWC device
