Health and Safety requirements Everyone on site have to comply with the health safety requirements stated in: • ESS Conduct and safety rules • ESS Health and Safety plan – coordination of work • Guideline for Stakeholder access - a bridging document with detailed information of site rules and routines ESS Conduct and safetyrules Health and Safety plan – Generic Health and Safety risks + mitigations Guideline for Stakeholder access- bridgingdocument

Whatare the responsiblities?Health and SafetyCoordination-Contractors and IKC on site • All contractors/companies in the joint work on site shall submit information to the BAS U regarding the particular risks for their activities on site • Everyone operating in the joint work on site shall follow the the regulations and rules for protection that the coordinator draws up • All employers have main responsibility for the work environment of their employees

Do not ignore!

To prepare before coming to site… • On ESS worksite: • Personal Protection Equipment (prescribedaccording to Risk assessment ) • Valid ID06 – card • Pre-registered and signedup for Site inductiontraining • Risk assessment and Workinstruction in place and communicatedwithpersons to executework • Requiredtrainingcertificates - Valid! • Requiredpermitsapproved

Fall protection • Works including the risk of falling from heights may not be carried out without using fall protection. • Working on heights and usingfall protective gear must never be carried out on your own! • Ladders are only to be used exceptionally, after approval from the production management. • Approved permit is required for all works using fall protection.

  13. Lifts & MEWPs • All work from a MEWP needs to planned in a work instruction - use the checklist. • Never work alone in a MEWP at height. • Stay in the MEWP/lift at all times – i.e. never climb on the railings or use it as an elevator. • The MEWPs & lifts require daily inspections (the person who uses them is also responsible for the inspection). • Boom lift: Personal fall protection/safety harness must always be used. • Scissor lift: It is ok to work without personal fall protection after proper risk analysis (using the checklist). • When working in lifts/MEWPs, always use safety barriers!

  14. Safe lifting • Permit from production management is required to use power-operated lifting equipment. • Safe lifting training is required to act as slinger. • Crane operator and slinger/ banksman need to speak the same language • Radio communication • For all lifts and during the full lifting operation • Slingers, banksmen and crane operators • Important to together ensure corridor for a safe lift (not only crane operator’s responsibility)

  15. Safe handling of Chemicals • Only approved chemicals on site • Hand over information (MSDS) on all chemicals you wish to use to production management • Chemicals shall be stored in ”environmental containers” • Follow the instructions and take care of any spillage – absorbants etc are available in the environmental container.

  16. Fire prevention • Hot work – Permit and Training (certificate) required. • Production manager are responsible for delegation of hot work permits on site. • When performing hot works a minimum of 2 x 6-kilo fire extinguishers should be brought. • Gas bottles shall be stored in designated locations and protected against falling. Contact your Supervisor for further information.

  17. Electrical safety • Only qualified personnel may execute work on electrical installations. • Hang up or cover cables – limits risk of tripping. • Check all cords, tools etc regularly. Deficient equipment shall be removed. • Earthingdisconnectorson all electrical installations. • Energized buildings/areas: no personnel is allowed to enter without permit. Requires “ESA permit”. • For issues regarding electrical safety,contact your Supervisor.

Coordinating site meetings • Monthly Coordination meetings • Weekly planning meetings • Daily update meetings - arranged by Area BAS U • Morning briefings (daily, adjacent to each building)- arranged by Area BAS U • Safety rounds for each BAS U Area–arranged by Area BAS U according to schedule • Electrical safety rounds • Fire safety rounds • Inspection rounds of Scaffolding • Spot checks by SEC • Emergency exercise and fire drills • Emergency response plan and coordination with Rescue Service

  19. Waste management and house keeping! • All wasteshall be sorted! • Good house keeping- all the time!
