2011 IEEE Meeting Series III - Highlights

  • November 15-21 in New Brunswick

    • Starts with committees, then boards and finally Board of Directors meeting

  • Key actions

    • Postponed discussion/action on “bundled society membership” (financial uncertainties)

    • Conference quality efforts will grow significantly

    • Approved China Communications periodical (w/CIC) and IEEE T-Wireless Computing for Healthcare (Phase 1 – 2013 launch; w/SPS, CS)

    • Continued discussing Open Access publication strategies (e.g., IEEE-wide “IEEE Forum,” society-specific trials)

    • Applying for “.IEEE” top domain name
