Federal Government Contract Awards • The Federal Government is currently spending billions of dollars in contracts to small companies as well as large. • Total Sales: 36610320837 For 2008 • Becoming a GSA Schedule contractor holder is your avenue to supplying your services and products directly to the Federal Government.

GSA Schedule –Why it is needed? • The GSA Schedules establishes long-term government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to over 11 million commercial supplies (products) and services • GSA has already negotiated fair and reasonable pricing, making the ordering easier for the government.

  5. Contract Awards – How Awarded? • Schedule contracts are awarded to responsible companies that offer commercial services or products, provided that prices are determined to be fair and reasonable. • GSA negotiation objective is commonly known as “most favored customer” pricing. Once GSA awards the contract, the Federal Government agencies order directly form the schedule.

Contracting Opportunities • There are two types of contracting opportunities: • PRIME CONTRACTING • You hold the contract. • SUBCONTRACTING • A larger company holds the contract and you get a piece of it. • When you are awarded a GSA Contract with the Federal Supply Schedules, you become the prime!!

  11. Basic Requirements Needed Upon Submittal • Dunn & Bradstreet report (Open Ratings) The DUNS Number is a unique nine character identification number provided by Dun and Bradstreet. The DUNS website contains information for vendors to obtain DUNS Numbers by telephone or via the Internet. • Orca Online Representations and Certifications Application • Schedule contractors are now required to complete electronic annual representations and certifications via the ORCA website and to update the representations and certifications as necessary, but at least annually, to ensure they are kept current, accurate, and complete.ion • Registration with CCR - Vendors must be registered in the CCR prior to the award of a Schedule contract.
