Vocabulary-Basics • Icon-a small box on the screen that represents available activities • Buttons-a box or symbol to be clicked on in order to proceed through a program • Cursor-a highlighted mark that indicates your location on the screen • Clicking-pressing and releasing the mouse button Jeff Kautz-Instructional Technology Specialist-ã

Vocabulary-Basics • Double-clicking-clicking the mouse buttons twice (quickly) • Dragging-moving the mouse with the mouse button held down • Highlighting-clicking and holding the mouse button down while dragging the cursor over desired data to be “selected” Jeff Kautz-Instructional Technology Specialist-ã

Vocabulary-Basics • 3 mouse skills-point, click, drag • Menu bar-the line near the top of the screen that gives you your choices • Scroll bar-narrow strips along the sides of a window that allow you to move through the text • Dialogue box-a box displayed on the screen that you are asked to respond to Jeff Kautz-Instructional Technology Specialist-ã
