  4. WHAT IS A PAPERLESS CLASSROOM? PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani A paperlessclassroom attitude is the idea of creating new ways for educators and their students to communicate digitally. Creative ways to teach course material and collect student work.

  6. INTRODUCTION PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani The world is rapidly becoming more technological. The way we communicate in society, they way businesses communicate and the way people get information is changing. The classroom environment is changing.

  7. INTRODUCTION PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani Imagine a classroom environment with no hard copies. No paper versions of assignment sheets, lesson handouts, checklists, quizzes and rubrics. It would extremely difficult to teach a class completely paperless.

  8. INTRODUCTION PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani But going paperless it is not impossible. The days of just paper and pen are behind us. Students are more technically advanced and we have to adapt to the new ways of communicating information.

Going paperless and digital will vary based on the course, class and the facility. But it all starts with breaking down the class material and transferringmaterials and content digitally.

  10. INTRODUCTION PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani Computers and other high-tech equipment are becoming significant components in educational institutions. The use of this equipment can help create a virtually paperless classroom.

PROS OF A PAPERLESS CLASSROOM PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani environmentally friendly electronic media enhances presentations and students' interest students can be provided with immediate feedback on assignments- using a computer to grade assignments saves time and promotes a more efficient record keeping environment

CONS OF A PAPERLESS CLASSROOM PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani students may not have the computer skills or be uncomfortable using a computer classrooms vary in computer equipment, accessibility and computer software computers may malfunction, they need constant maintenance work not all students have computer access at home or have Internet access

  26. DIGITAL BINDER (USB KEY) PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani The USB Key can act as a digital binder for students. Allowing them to upload notes, transfer files on to the server, present information and work from home. Using the USB key is a technical life skill students can carry over in to post secondary education.

  28. DIGITAL BINDER (USB KEY) PAPERLESS CLASSROOM – Brian Chen & Joel Pisani The USB Key or Memory Stick is very inexpensive. A 4GB – 8GB USB Key usually runs from $20 – $30 retail. The USB keys store Word processing files, PowerPoint projects and multimedia files. Some teachers may choose to include the device into a student lab or course fee.
