  1. WELCOME TO THE NUTRITIONAL WORKSHOP AT OSCAR SANDWELL 9TH APRIL 2013supported by Kapani, TASG and Santander RACHEL MCFEE – CENTRE MANAGER

  2. MISSION STATEMENT “Working together with service users, voluntary and statutory services and stakeholders to improve the quality of life for people affected by Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia in the Sandwell area.” Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia are inherited disorders that affect the blood.

  3. TASG Thalassaemia Awareness and Support Group – OSCAR Sandwell and OSCAR Birmingham are supporting this patient and carer group. • To promote the National Blood Service • Empower Thalassaemia Patients to manage their conditions • Raising public awareness of the issues affecting people with Thalassaemia both generally and in relation to their social exclusion

  4. Aim for the Nutritional Workshop OSCAR Sandwell understand that good nutrition has on a person’s health and well being. Through Kapani, ie Sonia Cooper’s nutritional smoothies, juices and other foods, we have found that encouraging our clients, their families and the local community to learn and start to doing these for themselves will have a massive positive impact on their health and well being. It is also relatively cheap, easy and fun!
