Functions & Services • Maintain 3,255 pieces of Automotive & Heavy Equipment PLUS 1,800 pieces of small engine equipment. • Maintain County Emergency Rescue Ambulances. • Service and maintain County Emergency Generators and Pumps. • Provide 24/7 fuel at 13 automated sites County wide.   11. Environmental & Green Initiatives Recycling • Waste Oil & Oil Filters • Coolant (Antifreeze) • A/C Freon Recovery & Re-Use • Retread Truck Tires • Batteries • Scrap Metal • Used Tires—shredded/chipped for reuse • Recycle Carwash Water Freon Recovery Machine

Environmental & Green Initiatives • All Brake & Clutch Parts used are non-asbestos • Parts washer fluids are non-hazardous • Non-Chlorinated Bulk Chemicals are used instead of aerosols • Nitrogen used to inflate tires, which increases both tire life and fuel economies • In a recent EPD audit, Fleet Management met the goals for the County’s Green Government Initiative Nitrogen Inflation Unit

Environmental & Green Initiatives Alternative Fuels • January 2008 -- Issued an RFP for Alternative Fuels • Biodiesel Products (B10 & B20) • Ethanol Products (E10 & E85) • Building Orange County’s 1st E85 Fueling Site, with an Estimated Completion of 1st Qtr 2008 • Orange County Convention Center Operating Two Hydrogen Fueled Shuttle Buses. Environmental & Green Initiatives Vehicles/Rolling Stock • VRUC-Vehicle Replacement Utilization Committee promotes County purchase of fuel efficient vehicles. • Total Rolling Stock – 1,898 • Diesel Powered-683 • Hydrogen-2 • Hybrids-31 • Flex Fuel-75 • 42% of Orange County’s Rolling Stock can be powered by Alternative Fuels.
