  2. How does the death of Jesus save us? Why did Jesus have to die for us?

  3. For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself A RANSOM FOR ALL, to be testified in due time.1 Timothy 2:5

  4. The RANSOM is the means by which God could justly release Adam (and all mankind) from the death sentence of Eden.

  5. I will RANSOM them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: Hosea 13:14

  6. What does the word "RANSOM" mean?

  7. The word RANSOM is translated from the Greek word "Antilutron," meaning "an equivalent, corresponding price."

  8. This concept of the corresponding price is a fixed law of God’s universe!

  9. It is expressed in Israel’s Law Covenant: "You shall give LIFE for LIFE, eye for eye, tooth for tooth"Exodus 21:23-24

  10. WHAT IS THE CORRESPONDING PRICE ?

  11. A Perfect Life

  12. A Perfect Life JESUS

  13. For A Perfect Life

  14. For A Perfect Life ADAM

  15. This is God’s Scale of Perfect Justice

  16. ADAM was a Perfect Man, with the right to live forever, as long as he obeyed God. JESUS was a Perfect Man. Not of Adamic descent, born of a virgin by God’s power.

  17. ADAM Sinned through disobedience JESUS Obeyed God perfectly

  18. ADAM was condemned to death. “In the day that you eat of it you will surely Die” Genesis 2:17 Romans 6:23 Ezekiel 18:43

  19. JESUS had the right to live forever, because obedient. "If a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right he shall surely live, says the Lord God." Ezekiel 18:5, 9 Deuteronomy 30:16

  20. All of Adam’s children (the entire human race) inherit Adam’s sin and sentence of death.Romans 5:12,17-18 1 Corinthians 15:21-22

  21. If Jesus had fathered children, his descendants would inherit his perfection, and if obedient, live forever.

  22. Adam and all mankind would be condemned to dying and eternal death - unless another perfect man offered to give his life as a ransom (corresponding price) in Adam’s place.

  23. Jesus gave up his own perfect human life to die as a ransom in place of Adam, thereby releasing the death sentence upon Adam and all his posterity!

  24. "For since by a man (Adam) came death…

  25. “… by a man (Jesus) came also the resurrection of the dead." 1 Corinthians 15:21 New American Standard

  26. JESUS’ RANSOM FOR ADAM SATISFIES JUSTICE 1 Corinthians 15:22

  27. It permits Adam and all mankind to be brought back to life!

  28. Justice or Just-us?

  29. Justice or Just-us?

  30. Justice or Just-us?

  31. God’s justice does not mean "just-us."

  32. Yet, many teach that only Christians will ever be saved. Christians Go Here Everyone Else

  33. If this is true, then most of the human race is doomed to everlasting death

  34. If this is true, then most of the human race is doomed to everlasting death(or worse).

  35. STOP and THINK for just a moment…

  36. Did Jesus die merely to save comparatively few Christians?

  37. The Bible tells us: NO!

  38. Some of the following slides are quoted Bible scriptures. Background images are omitted to help you focus on God’s Word.

  39. “Christ died "the propitiation" (satisfaction) for our (the Christians’) sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole (presently unbelieving) world.”1 John 2:2

  40. “Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins (the Christians) and the sins of all the world's people.”1 John 2:2 Contemporary English Version

  41. “And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins (the Christians), and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.”1 John 2:2 Amplified

  42. The Father lovingly provided His only-begotten Son to die "for all" while all were still in sin. John 3:16Romans 5:8

  43. The perfect man Jesus died for Adam’s sin, taking his place in death, thereby redeeming Adam AND all his offspring-the human race-from death.

  44. “For Christ also has once died for sins; the just (Jesus) for the unjust (Adam), that he might bring us to God.”1 Peter 3:18

  45. “By one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men. Therefore, as by the offense of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”Romans 5:12,18

  46. "THE RANSOMED OF THE LORD SHALL RETURN!" AT THE “RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD”

  47. "ALL that are in the graves shall hear" Jesus’ voice, and will "come forth." John 5:28Revised Standard Version

  48. This "Resurrection of the dead" will be in two parts:

  49. The Just

  50. and The Unjust Acts 24:15
