  1. Porsche All Geared up to Launch its 2019 Cayenne E-Hybrid Next Year Porsche has brought electrification back with its last generation of mid-size SUV, 2019 Cayenne E-Hybrid, which is due to release in the beginning of next year. This new addition will be the replacement of the current Cayenne S E-Hybrid. While the Cayenne E-Hybrid has lost the “S” from its name, the new edition is actually considered more powerful than the predecessor. This Porsche Cayenne car is equipped with a 335-hp 3.0 liter V-6 turbocharger along with 134- hp electric incorporated eight-speed automatic transmission and engine. The new E-Hybrid boasts a combination of 455 horses, that is 39 more than the previous model that equipped a less powerful supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine and electric motor. The company claims that the new Cayenne E-Hybrid will run up to 60 mph in approximately 4.7 seconds and speed through a quarter of a mile in around 13.3 seconds. Standard Feature of the Cayenne E-Hybrid Basic features supporting the new Cayenne E-Hybrid’s performance goals are the Sports Chrono package and Porsche’s Active Suspension Management, a.k.a PASM, which offers several driving modes that have been adapted for electric/gasoline powertrain. Additionally, there are four E-Hybrid driving modes; E-Power that offers a 14.1-kW battery pack to power the Cayenne for over 27 miles alone on electricity measured on the New European Driving Cycle. Hybrid Auto Mode that uses both, gas engine as well as an electric motor to offer utmost efficiency. E-hold Mode that maintains the battery charge for EV use later. And lastly, E-Charge that uses gasoline engines to refuel the battery while the car is on the move.

  2. Porsche also claims that the plug-in charging requires only around 2.3 hours on a 240-volt, 32-amp connection when accompanied with the 7.2 kW on board charger (optional). On the other hand, charging using the typical 3.6-kW unit and a 240-volt connection along with 10- amps takes around three times more than the previously mentioned time. The battery packs itself under the Cayenne’s cargo floor, which is dimensionally similar to the previous model, Cayenne S E-Hybrid, but at the same time, offering 30 percent more energy capacity. The Distinguished Styling Features With the electric/gasoline model notably distinguished by the bright-green brake calipers and outlined badges, there are only small minor styling differences between the standard Cayenne and the Cayenne E-Hybrid. The accents have also found its way back to into the cabin of the sports Chrono dial and tachometer of the E-hybrid. Besides the 2019 E-Hybrid will be the first Cayenne car to provide Porsche’s latest InnoDrive technology along with a head-up display. The InnoDrive Technology uses the GPS system to predict the condition of the road up to 1.8 miles ahead of the drive. Upcoming turns, gradients, traffic conditions, etc. are some of the parameters that it forecasts, allowing the driver to choose the right driving mode ahead. The 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will be hitting the dealership early next year with a base price of USD 80,950 which is the current price of the S E Hybrid model. While the combination of electric efficiency and powerful performance is quite enticing, the market is also eager to witness the Porsche Cayenne Turbo for sale that will be seen following the launch of Cayenne E-Hybrid. As for this model, the price is expected to start with USD 150,000. On the whole, next year, the company is all geared up to launch two Porsche cars for sales, in order to kick- start the year 2019 in full power piquing the curiosity of car enthusiasts.
