TC ESP shutdown year running year with Ext.Tech Stop Manpower needed in central technical team ~160 ~120 Fraction provided by CMS Collaboration ~1/2 ~1/3 Estimated totals per TC structural category for 2011: Central technical unit 18 Detector System and Machine Interface -BRM 14 -other 2 Engineering & Electronics 5 Infrastructure & Common Systems 4 Safety & Safety Systems 2 ~45 FTE-years This provides the minimum cover for each expertise and does not allow for the backup needed in some cases for sustained operation

  3. TC ESP To note : A large fraction of individuals in place are supported by subsistence (CERN or CMS). No “fractional weighting” applied. Almost all personnel have specialist expertise and have been in place for a few years: hard to substitute. Meshing with run coordination may still need some work Contributions to patrol and RP piquet not properly accounted for. No upgrade contribution counted, but must use synergy with upgrade work at CERN to maintain key people based here year-round.
