  4. Project Description • Viewridge Road Center Median: • Divert flows from storm drain • Approx. 18 Bio-filtration units • Vegetated center median* • Flow through treatment • Discharge into Topanga Canyon Creek *Drought tolerant, California native plants only. No trees.

Benefits Water Quality • Potential to treat 33 AFY stormwater and urban runoff • Address TMDL’s (SMBBB, Nutrients, Trash, Sediment) • Improve beneficial use of Topanga Canyon Creek (Lead Impairment) • Potential Pollutant Load Reduction per year (WMMS): • 64 lbs N • 66 lbs P • 0.9 lbs Pb (303(d) List Topanga Canyon Creek) Water Supply • Pump well • Capture stormwater and urban runoff (0.01 – 0.05 AFY) • Irrigate proposed center median up to three days Climate Change • Vegetated center median will reduce heat island effect • Cistern/pump well to offset potable water demand

Other Considerations • LA County has an excellent track record developing and implementing projects. • The Roosevelt Park Stormwater Capture Project, currently in construction, was a past recipient of the IRWM Grant. Grant Executed December 2016. • Robust Monitoring Program for all Stormwater Capture Projects. • In 2020, Project may also be considered for funding through the Safe Clean Water Program
