Spanish Curriculum at a Glance : • Pre-K & Kinder: SWS/Conversation for day-to-day • Meets 2 times per week for 30 minutes each • 1st:  SWS/Conversation for day-to-day Plus Calendar and Weather Units • Meets 2 times per week for 30 minutes each   • 2nd through 3rd:  Study of the Spanish alphabet/ Phonemic Awareness • Meets 3 times per week for 20 minutes each • 4th and 5th:  Beginning Reading & Writing in Spanish • Meets 3 times per week for 30 minutes each • 4th Grade Book: Beginner’s Spanish Reader: Everyday life experiences of young Spanish-speaking people • 5th Grade Book: Everyday Conversations in Spanish

  6. ¡School Wide Spanish! (SWS) • This year we will continue a school wide initiative to create “common-ground” Spanish vocabulary. • See monthly School Wide Spanish Newsletter included in Mrs. Kennedy’s Friday E-blasts. • Common ground vocabulary will also be posted in hallway in front of Spanish Classroom, Rm. 201. • Don’t be shy!! ¡¡No seaís tímidos!!
