On every cake, the height of a tier is the same as the radius of that tier. The cake has now to be iced. All the cake which is visible will be iced. What area of the cake will be covered by icing?

  3. 36cm Repeat your calculations for the cake shown below which has tiers of diameter 36cm, 26cm and 18cm respectively.

  4. d1 The cake shown has three tiers of diameter d1, d2 and d3 with corresponding radii r1, r2 and r3 respectively. Can you find a formula in terms of r1, r2 and r3 for the total area which is to be iced?

  5. Solution:- Icing the Cake Area of icing for first cake = 5809cm2. Area of icing for second cake = 4622cm2. Area in general =
