you can find a way to write it using less words that okay, but 
make sure you are getting this information in your notes. RED - This is very important and needs to be written in your

  21. Important things to remember: * The Chinese item that Europeans wanted above all others was tea, which is a beverage made of herbs and water. * The significant invention that made books more 
available was wood block printing. * The early Chinese used the invention of the compass 
(the fish) to travel by sea. * Gunpowder was an example of an important Chinese 
invention.

  25. Southern Rice Farming Why do you think that a food like rice would be so important for a civilization like China?

most important crop in China. * Farmers used rice terraces 
to grow rice in the mountains. * Population soared as farmers 
became better at growing rice. * With rice farmers could plant 
and harvest two, or even three, 
crops a year.

gunpowder was used to make bombs, 
rockets and other weapons. * By the 800s the Chinese 
developed a way of producing books 
known as block printing. * Wooden blocks had carved 
symbols on them that could be 
arranged to make words. * The process lowered the cost 
of books. The number of schools 
increased and so did literacy.
