  2. Example • Lea is going to the mall, she needs some money. • A comma is placed after mall to combine the two clauses. • The sun is high, put on some sun-block. • Once again a comma is placed after high to combine the two clauses.

  3. Tricky Sentences • Lea still rides her Harley motorcycle her toy poodle balances in a basket between the handlebars. • Lea still rides her Harley motorcycle, and her toy poodle balances in a basket between the handlebars.

  4. Instead of a comma When you are fixing a comma splice or fused sentence, subordinate conjugations can be the most tricky to use.
