  2. Arctic Europe, a region that includes Northern Norway, Finland and Sweden, is an epic destination for adventure travelers year-round. Whether you like to play in the snow in winter or explore an almost untouched wilderness under the midnight sun in summer, there is much to see and do in this part of the world. During a visit you will find breathtaking landscapes, incredibly friendly people and some of the best outdoor destinations in the world. You should not miss this when crossing the Arctic Circle.

  3. Experience the Northern Lights Arctic Europe is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to travel in winter to see this amazing natural phenomenon in all its glory. In fact, the lights can be detected almost every season, except from mid-June to mid-August, the time of the full midnight sun. The northern lights are visible in the region and Northern Lights tours will be offered nationwide.

  4. Take a cruise with an icebreaker In the arctic climate of the Arctic, ice-breaking ships are often used to drive over the frozen sea in the middle of winter. Usually these boats are closed to civilians, but in the town of Kemi, Finland, you can experience a very unique adventure on the icebreaker Sampo. The Sampo, which was first commissioned by the Finnish government in 1961, has been transporting travelers to the frozen Gulf of Bothnia since 1988.

  5. Whale watching on a dinghy Arctic Europe is the perfect region for whale watching in the wild, especially from mid-April to September. There are many humpback whales, orcas, minke whales, fin whales and even blue whales in this area. There are many options for whale safaris. In summer, travelers can even use the midnight sun to watch whales at any time of the day. Many of the excursions take place aboard a rigid dinghy with which visitors can get very close to giant mammals.

  6. With the snowmobile over a frozen sea With a snowmobile, you can explore the Arctic in a fun way - holidaymakers can drive through lush forests, across open meadows and even on frozen seas. These vehicles are ideal for the winter landscape of Arctic Europe as they provide access to places that are otherwise inaccessible during the long winter months. The Brändön Lodge near Luleå, Sweden, is the perfect place for such a trip. Guided tours are offered there, taking tourists to the frozen sea and the Luleå Archipelago and its dozens of small islands.
