  1. WHAT ARE THE SUBJECTS AND WEIGHTAGE OF TOPICS IN CLAT EXAM? Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most respected and sort after tests of all the law entrances in the country. After your class XII examination, you start preparing for this coveted and prestigious test. CLAT began the journey of testing in 2008 and today there are more than 40K aspirers who study, prepare and appear for this entrance every year. Appearing and clearing this entrance will prove to be opening doors to opportunities in the field of law in the best colleges across India. Colleges where you Can Get In With CLAT CLAT occurs every year and there is a selection of students for the top rated law universities in the country. There are 19 national law universities that are included in the list apart from the sort-after colleges for law. Some colleges such as the HP National Law University in Shimla do have their own process of selecting the students, but even those do accept the scores of CLAT. CLAT Score is also accepted by various other law schools and some of the other names are NMIMS, Mumbai, UPES Dehradun and Nirma University, Ahmedabad, to name a few. Some of the colleges would be also be National Law School Of India University in Bangalore, NALSAR university of Law in Hyderabad, National Law Institute in Bhopal. Take CLAT mock test The Syllabus/Subjects CLAT syllabus will cover a maximum of 200 questions. These questions will be asked from the range of five different subjects. The subjects are English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The topics that are to be covered within each of these subjects are detailed as under: English: This section will test the candidates' proficiency in English based on passages that are tested for comprehension and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be asked questions that will test their understanding of the passage, the theme of the passage and also the use of various terms and words used in the passage. Grammar requires to have more correction of incorrect grammatical sentences along with fill in the blanks of various given sentences with appropriate words. Also, there can be questions testing your approach towards setting the words in order to form sentences. General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The knowledge will be tested on the general awareness that will cover all static general knowledge and past 6-8 months current affairs . Mathematics: The Math section is similar to many other exams, but a bit more complex and twisted questions with application-based attributes will be asked. This will test candidate's knowledge on elementary mathematics– the math taught up to 10th Class/standard.

  2. Legal Aptitude: This will surely help to test candidate's inclination towards studying of law, research aptitude and the person’s problem-solving ability in general. Questions may include legal propositions and a set of facts where the mentioned proposition is applied. Logical Reasoning: This section is going to allow the board to test the candidate's ability to identify patterns, apply logical links to the questions and rectify illogical arguments with more sensible options. Download CLAT previous year papers The Weightage of the Subjects CLAT is two-hour duration test that will have 200 questions covering the entire range of five different areas and is conducted online. To be eligible for CLAT, the candidates must have secured 45% marks in the Qualifying Exam that is their Class XII or any equivalent degree which can even be diploma. This score is for all the unreserved students, which also includes the specially abled as well as the OBC classes. In case of candidates belonging to the reserved classes such as the SC or ST a 40% of marks is the score limit for appearing for the exam. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2018 are also eligible for appearing in CLAT 2019 examination. The result of the aforementioned qualifying examination or the equivalent shall be submitted by the applicant at the time of admission to the college without fail as this is the last chance to submit the proof, else the admission will be withdrawn and you might just lose your seat to someone else.
