DEF Catalogue project

DEF Catalogue project is a 5-year, £18 million initiative aimed at licensing e-journals, upgrading library systems, and developing portals and cross-catalogs. Led by Leif Andresen, the project involves the 12 largest research libraries in Denmark.

  4. Testbed in 3 steps Using 2 different gateways: 1. step: test connection and any- search: • First month fundamental errors in all targets • In few months: a lots of bugs in programmes and set-ups corrected DEF Catalogue project - Leif Andresen

Implementation details • Access to major Danish reserach libraries and key foreign library systems: BIBSYS, LIBRIS, British Library and Library of Congress • Link to ”Request screen” in owner library’s system • Link to www.library.dk - public version of Danish N.U.C. DEF Catalogue project - Leif Andresen

  15. New development • Possibility for repeating search in www.library.dk • For users without borrower card at owning library: Possibility for direct link to requesting in www.library.dk • For small result sets: Simple duplicate detection and sorting by Title DEF Catalogue project - Leif Andresen
