  2. Birth Born December 12, 1973 Dante Terrell Smith ,all ways had a love for the arts. He began rapping and acting at the age of six.

  3. The Golden Age Mos Def grow up in the golden age of rap he atttented Phillippa Schuyle, Middle School in Bushwick, Brooklyn. He majored in Musical Theater at Talent Unlimited High School of the Performing Arts in Manhattan. He also studied at New York University in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

  4. Music Career He began his career in 1994, in the short-lived group Urban Thermo Dynamics . In 1996, he began as a solo artist and worked with acts such De La Soul and the Da Bush Babees. Since then he has went on to make three albums.

  6. Film Career • Mos Def began acting at the age of fourteen ,he appeared on the made for TV film God Bless the Child, he also appeared in the sitcom You Take the Kids. But his ground breaking role was along side Bill Cosby in the 1994 series “The Cosby Mysteries”. Since then he has became a household name, in the film industry.

  9. Dajuan Thoughts On Mos Def • The thing I like about Mos Def is that he really embodies what a true artist should be. He really stays true to his style ,which I like. He has something deep to say in his works of film and music, never letting the light of fame go to his head –Dajuan.
