  10. Résumés – Tips from Kiersty • Arrange duties in the same order that the job ad lists them • Use a standard date arranged resume. • Don’t list every summer job etc…only the ones that relate to the position • Think creatively about what you have done in the past

Résumés – Tips from Kiersty • Use bullets points not paragraphs • White space is important • When providing an e-resume don’t add cutesy graphics or ones that move • If providing a website link test it in various browsers and on a Mac • References upon request • Provide a professional email address

  12. Résumés – Tips from Kiersty • Save the self promotion for the cover letter • Really sell yourself in the cover letter • Use power words in it • Successfully completed • Positive outcome • Promotion • Increased (as in increased income, collection etc)

  13. Other Tips • Make sure your voice mail greeting is not embarrassing • Clean-up your MySpace, Facebook or other social networking site. • Pray that in the past you never posted something embarrassing to the web • Provide your references with the job ad, your cover letter and your resume
