  2. Vocational Vocational qualifications can help you to: • get the skills you need to start a job • progress in your career • go on to further learning

  3. Vocational Qualifications • Vocational qualification levels can be compared to other qualifications such as GCSE. • Entry level qualifications build confidence and help people prepare for further learning and work.

  4. Vocational Qualifications • Level 1 qualifications are the equivalent of grades D to G at GCSE • Level 2 qualifications are the equivalent of grades A* to C at GCSE • Level 3 qualifications are equivalent to A levels

  5. What can you do? Qualifications on offer include • BTEC • City and Guilds • ASDAN • WJEC • NOCN

  6. What can you do? Examples of Vocational Courses include: • Animal Care • Horticulture • Construction • Mechanics • Hair and Beauty • Child Care • Music Technology • Catering

  7. Other Providers Alternative provision includes college placements, placements in other Schools and working with other Providers.

  9. Work Experience • Work Experience can include a short placement, usually a week, or a longer term placement where the student attends one day a week.

  10. Work Experience • In conjunction with work experience pupils will follow the WexAbility programme. This will give them points and is a fun and engaging programme designed to help young people get the best out of their work experience.
