DATE: MONDAY 8 DATE: THURSDAY 4 DATE: WEDNESDAY 3 DATE : MONDAY 8 DATE: TUESDAY 9 The AFIP-Customs, through General Resolution 3456, amended the criteria for the import of different products: artificial graphite, white rice, different condiments and certain books. The decision was taken after receiving the results of the risk evaluation and based on a study related to the value of the goods. . BUENOS AIRES, Due to the XXXI Anniversary of the Malvinas War, the ex-combatants Commission organized different events at the AFIP Headquarters and the Customs Administration building. The authorities of the Administration, the representatives of SUPARA, AEANA and the Air Force band participated of the event. The AFIP-Customs, through General Resolution 3458 and 3459, has established preventive import criteria amounts for knitted and synthetic fiber and bed clothes. This measure is intended to avoid tax evasion, to fight against under-invoicing and to protect the national industry and the jobs PANAMA- The Argentina AFIP-Customs participated in the XVI Regional Conference of Customs Directors General of the Americas and the Caribbean (RCCDG); the XXXIV Meeting of Latin America, Spain and Portugal Customs Directors General and the Joint Forum of the Customs Authorities: WCO-COMALEP-PRIVATE SECTOR. During said activities, the Customs Service actively participated in the AEO Regional Strategy together with the United States; in the WCO Competitiveness Package that deals with the accession to the Revised Kyoto Convention, the incorporation and practical implementation of the tools developed by the WCO. The Customs Service participated in the Customs Contribution Panel for Inter-regional Connectivity with the Brazil Customs, thus sharing their experiences as regards the information exchange with the Mercosur Block and the rest of the region. The AFIP-Customs, through General Resolution 3457, has established preventive import criteria for personal items for travel in order to avoid tax evasion, to fight against under-invoicing and to protect the national industry and the jobs. DATE : THURSDAY 11 DATE : THURSDAY 11 DATE : WEDNESDAY 24 DATE : MONDAY 15 DATE : THURSDAY 11 DATE : THURSDAY 11 The AFIP-Customs, through General Resolution 3465, updated the reference values for the export of apples and pears as a first step to control the declarations, to protect the tax interests and to detect differences in the values of similar goods. FORMOSA – POSADAS. The AFIP-Customs seized 450 kilograms of marijuana during three different procedures. In all the cases, the narcotics were concealed inside vehicles. Two of the procedures were conducted at the San Ignacio Loyola Clearance and the third procedure was conducted at the International Bridge San Roque Gonzales in Santa Cruz. EZEIZA – The AFIP-Customs seized 2 kilograms of cocaine during two different procedures. The substance was concealed inside shoes and cream and shampoo bottles. In addition, one of the passengers ingested some capsules. The countries of destination were Spain and Italy. BUENOS AIRES – The 324th Meeting of the Customs Advisory Counsel took place at the Auditorium of the Customs building. The WCO Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Sergio Mujica, participated in the event. The topics of the meeting were the implementation of the General Resolution 3479, Customs guarantees and the General Resolution 3451, Payment facilities. BUENOS AIRES – The AFIP signed a Customs information exchange agreement with the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Mutual Cooperation and Assistance Agreement signed between the Customs Administrations sets the basis to create a business platform to guarantee the safe and transparent licit trade. LA QUIACA – The detector dog “Sheisha” discovered 2 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside a suitcase. In another procedure, the Customs agents intercepted a vehicle that carried 1,300 kilograms of used clothing for a value of AR500, 000. Said clothes were going to be illegally sold. The Federal Administrator, Ricardo Echegaray, signed a tax information Exchange agreement with the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, ZoranStavreski. He stated that during his visit, the negotiations for a Customs information exchange agreement were started. The AFIP, through the Customs, seized 136,000 counterfeited products for an amount of 34 million Pesos during different procedures. The goods were seized during the procedures conducted in Entre Rios, Misiones, Formosa and Jujuy. During the Animal Day, the AFIP-Customs made demonstrations at the primary schools with the detector dogs trained at the Customs of Posadas, Salta, Rosario, Cordoba, Bahia Blanca, ComodoroRivadavia, Resistencia, La Plata, Mendoza and Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. During the procedures conducted in Chaco, Formosa and Posadas, the Customs agents intercepted two trucks and two vehicles that had 14,000 cigarette packs illegally concealed (manufactured in Paraguay). As a result, six people were arrested based on an arrest warrant. BUENOS AIRES. The 47th CIAT General Assembly took place and the main topic was the “International Taxation Aspects that affect the Management of Tax Administrations”. The AFIP Federal Administrator, Ricardo Echegaray, as elected president, inaugurated the event in which 36 delegations of the Member countries and the CIAT Members participated. The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations is intended to promote the evolution and the strengthening of the tax administrations of the 39 Member countries. Argentina will try to increase the mutual assistance and cooperation among the Member countries in the international agenda of the CIAT. The Customs Service in April 2013
