Challenges/Opportunities EU 2020 – Make work more attractive; get the jobless back to work; balance security and flexibility (flexicurity) EU Disability Strategy: Employment – Disabled people need to be paid in the open labour market; young people in transition, diversity management agenda Equality – Full implementation of Employment Discrimination 9 (Directive 2000/78/EC)

Challenges/Opportunities UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with DisabilitiesArticle 27: Work and employment People with disabilities have the right to work, including the right to work in an environment that is open, inclusive and accessible. Countries must take appropriate steps to promote employment opportunities and career advancement for people with disabilities.

EUSE Response • Development of Strategic Plan 2013 – 2015 • Partnership – consolidation of existing partnerships and building new partnerships at National and European Level • Policy – to include National and European level lobbying • Membership/Sustainability – Funding, Awards to include the development of Employer Awards/European Job Shadow Week. • Research – Quality Agenda including standards
