  5. Labin • population11,642 • formerlyan industrialtown,todaytourism oriented • locatedon the eastern coast of Istria, 5 km from the seaside • famous for mining, tourism and many factories that are located in the area

  6. Ivanec HighSchool – once... • history of high school education in Ivanec can be traced back to the 1930s • 63 students enrolled in 1930 • in 1991 Ivanec High School becomes independent and offers a wide variety of courses

  7. Ivanec HighSchool– today... • three and four year programmes: Grammar school, Economy and Trade, Mechanical engineering courses, Carpentry • 532 students aged 15 to 18 • 24 classes • 78 employees

  8. EU projects • SMUN (Contemporary teaching methods) – modernization of existing curricula – applicable and practical skills • ICT web portal – e-learning • accounting software – a simulation model • educating teachers in order for them to apply contemporary teaching methods in their classes
