  2. ADAPTATIONS THE INDIANS OF THE EASTERN WOODLANDS HAD TO ADAPT TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE, AN ADAPTION THEY MADE WAS THE CLOTHES THEY WORE THEY HAD TO WEAR CERTAIN CLOTHES DURING CERTAIN SEASONS. THEY ALSO HAD TO LEARN HOW TO USE THE RESOURCES AROUND THEM.

  3. HOUSING THE EASTERN WOODLAND INDIAN TRIBES LIVED IN LONG HOUSES AND WIGWAMS. WIGWAMS WERE MADE OF YOUNG STICKS BENT INTO A HALF CIRCLE AND COVERED IN BIRCH BARK AND THIN LAYERS OF GRASS. THEY LIVED IN LONG HOUSES THAT WERE RECTANGULAR AND HAD A FRAME OF YOUNG STICKS ON TOP THEY SEWED TOGETHER BARK, INSIDE WAS COVERED IN DEERSKIN. AS MANY AS 12 FAMILIES LIVED INSIDE!

  4. FOOD THE NATIVES OF THE EASTERN WOODLANDS HUNTED, FISHED GATHERED BERRIES, FRUIT, AND NUTS, THEY ALSO FARMED CORN, SQUASH, AND BEANS . THEY USED BOWS TO HUNT AND TRAPS.

  5. CLOTHES CLOTHING OF THE EASTERN WOODLAND MEN WERE VERY SIMPLE THEY WORE SHIRTS, LEGGINGS, AND MOCCASINS OF ANIMAL SKINS. THE WOMEN WORE GRASS WOVEN SKIRTS WITH FURS ON TOP AND LEGGINGS UNDERNEATH. IN THE SUMMER MEN WORE BUCKSKINS AND WOMEN WORE GRASS DRESSES.

  6. ENVIRONMENT The eastern woodland Indians environment included a deciduous forest, the St Lawrence lowlands, a coastal Atlantic region, and the Appalachian mountains.
