  3. Examples: • American cultural symbols: red, white and blue colors; Bald eagle; Coin with "in god we trust" • Indian cultural symbols: yogi, banyan tree, image of Indian god or goddess   • Chinese cultural symbols: bamboo tree, bonsai tree, yin/yang symbol

  4. What comes to mind when I say: A Cross? Uncle Sam? A Hornet? Mistletoe? Black Cats? Cupid? A Turkey? Our Flag? A Shamrock? An Egg? An Elf? A Gun?

  6. The answer is yes, they are all symbols.
