  5. Does the teacher give accurate information about the learning goals? • Do students understand the learning goals? • Does the teacher give accurate information about the instructional procedures? C1 – Making learning goals and instructional procedures clear to students

  6. What does the teacher say and do to convey the content? • What has the teacher done to connect the content to students’ prior knowledge? • What did the students do and say to indicate they comprehend the content? • Was there a logical structure to the lesson? • Was the lesson logically sequenced? C2 – Making Content comprehensible to students

  7. Does the teacher actively encourage independent creative or critical thinking? • This must be PREPLANED in the Instruction Profile. C3 – Encouraging students to extend their thinking

  8. Did the teacher monitor the students’ understanding of the content? How? • Did the teacher make adjustments (IF NEEDED) during a lesson to help students better understand the content? • Did the teacher give specific feedback about the learning goals? C4 – Monitoring students’ understanding of content through a variety of means, providing feedback to students to assist learning, and adjusting learning activities as the situation demands.

  9. Did the teacher provide students with activities of instructional value for the entire instructional time? • Did the teacher pace students appropriately and were non-instructional procedures performed efficiently? C5 – Using instructional time effectively.

  10. Access video by clicking on the video icon RTOP Video 2. • Watch the first 10 minutes of the video. • While watching the video, you will script out evidence for Domain C. Carousel • You will be assigned a number from 1-5 • If you were assigned number 1 you will go to the poster labeled C1. Number 2 goes to C2, etc. • At the poster, please list the evidence you found for that criterion. You will have 3 min. to record your evidence then you will move to the next poster. C1 will go to C2, C2 will go to C3, C3 to C4, C4 to C5, C5 to C1 until you have been to each poster. Activity
