  14. Delivery context – Programmes New programmes launched: • Care & Support Specialist Housing Fund (£240m) – HCA managing for DoH • Additional £300m Empty Homes – bidding details to follow GBB – projects now on site First community led scheme allocations made FirstBuy – bids being progressed

Delivery Context – Policy HCA land • MK transfer confirmed • updated disposal schedule to be published in coming weeks City Deals • land receipts to be ring-fenced for re-investment within LEP area (Gtr B’ham & Solihull) • 2nd wave city deal contenders announced (inc.   20. Employment and Training Initiatives Board Approval in October 2010 to investigate extending delivery of training and development initiatives to support our communities and neighbourhoods

  21. Employment of Apprentices • Employment of trainees • Work ready package • Partnership building • Modern business apprenticeship • Volunteer opportunity • Work placements • Work programme • Mentoring and Coaching Employment and Training Initiatives

Update on the numbers .. • 22 maintenance apprentices (over the last 4 years) • 55 work placements (JCP, self referrals), 8 have gained employment since being with us • Continuing work experience – days & block release • 4 new Customer Service Trainees (2 existing) • 6 placements started with QA Kitchens, 2 additional have been recruited • 1, placement with Travis Perkins Employment and Training Initiatives

Update on the numbers .. last 12 months • 1 long term placement from Phoenix School with Supported property team • 1 long term placement from NACRO • 1 long term catering placement • 1 long term grounds maintenance placement • Development Build Contracts – 6 @ Dothill, 2 @ Woodside, developer also taken on apprentice from Wrekin Housing Trust, • Development Build Contracts – Work Experience - schools • Mentoring and Coaching Employment and Training Initiatives

Employment and Training Initiatives Do not underestimate the difference that’s made : • ‘It has been a great experience, I couldn’t have asked for a better one’ • ‘Getting to know the Teams was the best thing’ • ‘There has been a warm welcoming feel at The Wrekin Housing Trust’ • ‘It has made me stand back and think where I am going to stand in the future’

What's the plan … • Currently processing JCP, tenant and schools referrals • Will recruit another 2 paid placements for QA starting in new year – 2 previous ones have been retained • Agreement from TP paid 6 month placement • 12 paid trainee positions with Wrekin Housing Trust

HCA Branding Changes • Single logo, based on a HM Government brand identity • Move to a single citizen facing website for all Government departments and their ALBs • Changes formally incorporated in Civil Service Reform Plan – applying to all Government departments and their ALBs • DCLG early adopter • Timescales • Single brand - April 2013 • Single web domain – April 2014 • Business as usual at the moment but be alert in the New Year
