  1. Introduction of Hearing aid The hearing aid receives sound through microphone which converts the sound in electrical signals and send to the amplifiers. The amplifiers increase the power of signals and send to the speakers. Hearing is most important sense organs in our body. Which helps to communicate, understand and listening or sharing thoughts. Hearing is very essential in day to day life. Hearing loss or Deafness occurs in every age group. Hearing aid is also known as deaf aid. It is designed to improve hearing. A hearing aid is a small electronic device such as personal sound amplifier products that you wear in and behind your ear. Deaf aid has some essential parts such as microphone, Amplifier and speaker.

  2. Introduction Electronics is used in Hearing aid • Hearing aid work depending on electronics used, Two types of electronics is used first is Analog and Digital. • Analog aids: Analog aids convert sound waves into electrical signals, which are amplified. • Digital aids: Digital aids convert sound waves into numerical codes, similar to the binary code of a computer.

  3. What is Hearing • The hearing aid receives sound through microphone which converts the sound in electrical signals and send to the amplifiers. The amplifiers increase the power of signals and send to the speakers. • It makes sounds louder with the help of Amplifier, so that a person suffers from hearing loss and listening problem, communication that uses hearing aid devices and participate more fully in daily activities. A hearing aid can help people hear more in both silence and noisy situations. • Audiologist is the physician who specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders and find the cause of the hearing loss. It identifies and measures hearing loss and will perform a hearing test measure type and degree of loss.

  4. Advantages of Hearing aids • Hearing aid provide clear and natural sound. • Hearing aids are safe and simple. • Hearing aid easy to use, means comfortable.

  5. Disadvantages of Hearing aids • Cost of hearing aid is high. • Maintenance issue in hearing aids. • Potential Discomfort. Hearing Equipment

  6. Types of hearing aids: • Vacuum tube hearing aid. • Transistor body-worn hearing aid. • Behind The Ear (BTE). • In The Ear (ITE). • Canal:-Two types first In The Canal (ITC) and second is completely In Canal (CIC).

  7. How hearing aid can help • Hearing aids are useful in improving the hearing and speech comprehension of people who have hearing loss. • Hearing Loss results from damage to the small sensory cells in the inner ear, called hair cells. This type of hearing loss is called sensorineural hearing loss. • The damage can occur as a result of disease, aging, or injury from noise or certain medicines.

  8. Why Hearing is Important • Hearing is also known as listening. Listening is a Hard work. Hearing is most important magical kind of sense in our body. Hearing is very essential for day to day life means daily life. Hearing helps to easily to communicate and understand, listening to music etc. Hearing is also beneficial for each and every person. Healthy hearing provides positive energy to alertness and more work effectively. • When yours hearing decline-you feel like, life is going to downhill. Its fact hearing loss cannot affect you physically. Hearing loss problem occurs in every age group.

  9. Hearing loss Problem: • When, Hearing Loss results from damage to the small sensory cells in the inner ear, called hair cells. This hearing loss is called sensorineural hearing loss. • The damage can occur disease, aging, or injury from noise or certain medicines. • Audiologist is the physician who specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders and find the cause of the hearing loss. It identifies and measures hearing loss and will perform a hearing test measure type and degree of loss.

  10. Types of Hearing Loss • conductive Hearing Loss. • Sensorineural hearing Loss. • Mixed hearing Loss (which is a combination of both).

  11. Conductive Hearing Loss This hearing loss affects the passage of sound between the ear drum and the inner ear. Sound passes down the ear canal to the ear drum and through the middle ear, where the sound is transmitted across the middle ear by the three bones called the ossicles to the inner ear.

  12. Causes of Conductive Hearing Loss • Wax (cerumen):- A build-up of wax in the outer ear may stop sound from reaching the ear drum. • Infection:- Infection and inflammation in the outer ear (otitis externa) or middle ear (otitis media). • Glue ear (otitis media with effusion) :- Inflammation in the middle ear with associated fluid filling the middle ear space around the ossicles. The fluid stops the ossicles and ear drum from moving effectively and stops sound from passing easily through to the inner ear. • Ear surgery :- May damage the ear drum or small bones in the middle ear stopping sound from passing easily through to the inner ear.

  13. Sensorineural hearing Loss The Sensorineural hearing loss is also known as SNHL, and occurs when inner ear nerves are damaged and cannot properly transmit signals to the brain. Dieases and Infection is the cause of sensorineural hearing loss.

  14. Causes of Sensorineural Hearing Loss • Dieases and Infections. • Head or acoustic trauma. • Loud Noise. hearing loss, hearing care

  15. Mixed hearing Loss Mixed Hearing Loss is a combination of conductive and Sensorineural Hearing Loss.

  16. Signs of Hearing Loss • Loneliness • Tension and fatigue. • Irritation and Tension. • Unsafe situations due to decreased alertness. • Depression • Anger and irritability.

  17. Common hearing loss Symptoms • People comment that your TV or radio is too loud. • Difficulty conversations involving 2 or more people. • Confusion or difficulty focusing in noisy areas (restaurants, malls, meetings, etc.). • Relying more on reading lips or watching people’s faces as they talk • Common sounds seem muffled. • Unrelated answers or comments to questions/conversations. • Ringing sensation in the ears.

  18. Protect your hearing • Hearing Protection is very Important for each and every person. Hearing is a magical kind of sense. When you are not protect, suffer from hearing loss. Hearing Loss results from damage to the small sensory cells in the inner ear, called hair cells. This type of hearing loss is called sensorineural hearing loss. High volume sound can affect the hearing loss. • The damage can occur of disease, aging, or injury from noise or certain medicines.

  19. Some essential points to protect our hearing • Use earplugs. The higher noise and the longer you're exposed to it, the greater the chance of damaging your hearing. • Use earplugs when you're listening to live music. ... • Don't put up with work noise. • Wear ear protectors. • Turn down the music. • Use the 60:60 rule. • Wear headphones. • Turn down the dial. how you can protect our ears for more information visit our site, hearing protection

  20. Protect your Hear

  21. How Your Allergies Can Affect Your Hearing • Allergies can affect your hearing when, immune system responds to allergens by producing antibodies that release histamine. Allergies can cause a variety of problems in your ears like: • Itching • Swelling • Fullness • Dizziness or balance issues • The release of histamine produces an allergic response; which can cause conductive hearing loss.

  22. Ear symptoms related to allergies • Chronic itching of the outer ear canal • Frequent outer ear infections • Feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear • Frequent infections of the middle ear • Dizziness • Tinnitus (noises in the head) Symptoms of hearing losshearing loss

  23. Ear has three major sections, all of which can be affected by allergies • Outer Ear: Allergic skin reactions can cause itching and swelling of both the outer ear and ear canal. • Middle Ear: This is where fluid buildup can happen, causing earaches or ear pressure. When swelling stops your middle ear from draining, it gives your ear a full feeling. Also being uncomfortable, it can also cause balance issues. • Inner Ear: Hearing can be temporarily impaired in individuals with inner-ear disorders like M?ni?re’s disease. This can also cause vertigo , tinnitus, a ringing in the ears.

  24. Why It’s I?porta?t to Get Your Hearing Checked • Regular check-ups of hearing are the best way to know, how your hearing health is doing. A check-up once a year is always a good idea. • Audiologist is the physician who specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders and find the cause of the hearing loss. It identifies and measures hearing loss and will perform a hearing test measure type and degree of loss. • everal signs and symptoms of hearing loss, you should take a hearing test as soon as possible if you have experienced one or more of these signs. Here are the signs you should look out for: • Inability to hear conversations in public places such as restaurants • Frequently increasing the volume of the television or radio • Often asking people to repeat themselves • Difficulty hearing on the telephone . • Ringing sensation in the ears.

  25. Why It’s I?porta?t to Get Your Heari?g Checked When you are not protect, suffer from hearing loss.
