  2. Signs of the Road …. • Be in this Rut the next 200 miles …. • Today beginning a New Season and taking a time out.

  3. Walking in Wisdom …. Our Text encourages us to “Be careful … regarding how we live these days.” • To live wisely…. • 180 School days ahead that will happen only once… • 10 months that we will fall into patterns, schedules and habits which lived out have the potential to shape us, strengthen and equip us or if we’re not careful wreck us. > The Question: “Will we take advantage of the OPPPORTUNITIES OF THIS SEASON????

Ephesians 5:15-18 NIV 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

  5. Ephesians 5:19-21 NIV 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

  7. Caution Watch your Step We are to be different … Children of Light Eph. 5:8-11 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Caution Watch your Step How we live out Christ each day has tremendous Impact on Everyone around us. • You carry Hope, the Word of Life, the witness of Christ’s Resurrection Power… • You parents set the tone for your children each day… • Kids you have the power to set the tone for your class room, influencing your teachers, your friends and your entire school. • In our work places we have the Power to bring Light or Dark depending on our choice….

  9. Caution Watch your Step As Followers of Christ” we must carry His fragrance well. The Days are evil The opportunity is Now and soon passing (Redeem the Time) Buy the opportunity!

  10. Caution Watch your Step We will give an account for how we used the time. Look around and watching your step. A sense of evaluation and planning… What rut am I in?? Am I using the Gift of this season well????

  11. His Empowering Presence vv.17-18 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

  12. His Empowering Presence vv.17-18 Living Wisely this Fall will involve intentionally saying “No to some things” and “Yes to others.” The Antidote in a Fast paced world of choices and confusing options… Be being filled with the Holy Spirit….

  13. His Empowering Presence vv.17-18 What does this mean …. Ask the Holy Spirit to have and maintain first place in your life… Ask the Spirit to saturate your thinking, decision making and the directives of your life. Allow the Spirit to have all of you A Life characterized by the Holy Spirit’s control.

  14. Patterns and Habits to put in Place to Live Wisely 19-21 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.   15. Patterns and Habits to put in Place to Live Wisely 19-21 Make personal Worship of God a priority… vs. 19 Create a climate of Praise in your home, cars, speech and living. Consistently Keeping Sabbath … Keep the Word of God in the center of your lives ….

  16. Patterns and Habits to put in Place to Live Wisely 19-21 e. Hold one another accountable in love… Watch out for each other … 10-11 F. Encourage one another to live as children of Light 8-9 G. Live with a reverent submission in love to one another’s highest good. Vs. 21

  17. Conclusion: Make the Most of this Opportunity… The vision • A school year in which the Glory of God fills our lives personally. • A school year in which my life as a Child of God has eternally impacted another’s life • A school year in which my children have grown physically, morally and spiritually • A season in which I personally welcome the Light of God because of the growth and grace of God in my life. “NO REGRETS!”
