There are three scenarios that the user should be aware of when using this option. • Starting an upgrade on an initial order system, results in a complete new base system using the CFReport from the initial order system. Subsequently an upgrade system is created from the new base system. • Starting an upgrade on a base system, results in a sibling upgrade system created from the existing base system. • Starting an upgrade on a proposed upgrade system, results in a complete new base system using the CFReport from the proposed upgrade system. Subsequently an upgrade system is created from the new base system.

  33. e-config Training – MES Upgrade • Notice the icons listed under the Customer Designation icon in the Portfolio list. • The top level SYS icon represents the base system. Click the second level SYS icon which represents your upgrade configuration. • Now you can modify the system to meet your customer's needs.

  34. e-config Training – MES Upgrade • At this point in the configuration, the Wizards list contains the products contained on your base system. • The Catalogs list contains the products which can be upgraded. For example, double-click the 9117-MMC icon in the Catalogs list. A 9117-MMC wizard will open to capture your feature selections. At this point, you can either upgrade the features on the existing model or upgrade it to a different model.

  35. e-config Training – MES Upgrade • When you finish your upgrade configuration there are several options available. • You can export the configuration by selecting the export menu button (see red box) or you can right-click on the 'CFR 1’ area in the top left of the screen shot.
