  3. It has been estimated that on average a school-age child using a disposable lunch generates 67 pounds of waste per school year. That equates to 18,760 pounds of lunch waste for just one average-size elementary school.

  4. Facts.. LED light bulbs save fifty percent of the energy in your home.

  5. The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50 million homes for 20 years!

  6. Marine dead zones are caused by global warming. There’s been a huge spike in dead sea life in recent years–and it often washes up on shores – S T I N K Y!!!!!

  7. 28 billion water bottles are used by Americans each year…. …80% of them are put in landfills!

  8. 40% of America’s rivers and 46% of America’s lakes are too polluted for fishing, swimming, or aquatic life.

  9. What is happening to the Polar bears is happening to our world!!

  10. About 80% of what Americans throw away is recyclable, yet our recycling rate is just 33%.

  11. WHAT CAN WE DO????

  12. No Throw Low Throw Let’s reduce the amount of trash in the cafeteria by packing smarter lunches!!!!.

  13. Be Waste-Free • REUSE: • durable forks, spoons, and knives • Cloth napkins • Refillable drink containers • Reusable lunch containers • Plastic baggies • RECYCLE: • Aluminum cans • Glass bottles • Paper bags
