  2. ABOUT JFF • JFF's mission is to help young people and adults struggling most in today's world succeed in education and careers. We are committed to ensuring that all low-income youth and adults attain postsecondary credentials with value in the labor market. • To accomplish this, JFF focuses on three key goals: • Accelerate the number of low-income high school students who graduate college and career ready with post secondary momentum • Accelerate post secondary attainment and career advancement through education and career pathways leading to credentials with value in the labor market • Significantly alter the national conversation so that aligned education and career advancement systemsare the expected norm and supported in national and state policy and capacity

Ready for College Build On-Ramps to College Opportunities—policies designed to increase college readiness • Dual Enrollment/Early College—OH, NC, TX strategy to reduce need for developmental education • Assessment and Placement—NC use of multiple measures • Developmental Education Redesign—CT elimination of traditional developmental education

No Time To Waste Accelerate Progress Streamline the path to credentials, degree, & transfer • Intrusive Advising—FL HB 7135 mandated 30 hour advising requirement • Early Declaration of Program of Study—FL HB 7135 and TX HB 3025 • Improve Transfer and Articulation—FL and TX reduction of credit hours for general education core

  6. Help Me Cross the Finish Line Policies that provide incentives for completion • Performance Funding—OH Success Points • Financial Aid for Persistence • Reverse Transfer—Mandated by TX HB 3025

  7. Policy Action to Structure Pathways • High School to College Transition—NC College and Career Promise • Community College Experience—FL HB 7135 and TX HB 3025 early declaration of POS • 2-year to 4-year Transition—FL HB 7135 streamlining general education core
