  9. Intrazone Roadmap Pitstop Podcast July 2019 • Drag and drop files to the canvas. SharePoint authors will be able to upload images to the Canvas using drag and drop. SharePoint will automatically add the file viewer and upload the file to the document library. • Link preview. We’ve also added a rich preview for links pasted into the text editor to embed videos from Stream and YouTube links or images with title and description from other links. • On-page anchors. SharePoint will support anchor links, which allow readers to jump to a specific part of the page. • Undo/Redo. SharePoint authors will have the option to undo changes prior to saving or publishing. • Vertical sections. Modern pages can now have vertical sections.

  10. OneDrive Azure Active Directory (AAD) business-to-business (B2B) sync • Integrates external sharing in SharePoint and OneDrive with Azure AD B2B • Includes external sharing of files, folders, list items, document libraries and sites • With this integration turned on, when a user shares an item in SharePoint or OneDrive with an external user then a Guest account is immediately created for that external user (if one does not already exist). • As a result, any sign-in or conditional access policies in place in your organization will take effect on those external users.

  11. Quick Edit Improvements for SharePoint lists and document libraries • Will allow users to easily edit their metadata by enabling new features within the Quick Edit mode such as filtering content, dragging and dropping column widths, showing all view and column formatting, and improved user/choice field type support

  12. Bulk approvals for SharePoint for items in a workflow • Many documents may be part of an approval workflow. • Starting soon, you can select multiple items and decide to either approve or reject them together. • To use this new feature, you can select multiple items and then “Approve/reject” all in one motion. • You can also add optional comments into the Flowand out to associated stakeholders.

  13. SharePoint and OneDrive: mass delete notification • To help raise awareness of possible uncommon or accidental file deletions (based on a 'higher than usual' number of deleted files per hour), people will be notified if a large number of files are deleted. • For OneDrive, if a large number of files are deleted from a person's OneDrive, that person - the *owner* - will be sent an email notification letting them know about it and pointing them to the Recycle Bin in case they want to restore. • For SharePoint team sites, if a large number of files are deleted, the *person that deleted them* (site owner or member) will be sent an email notification letting them know about it and pointing them to the Recycle Bin in case they want to restore. Each email notification will include an unsubscribe link at the bottom for those that wish to opt out of this type of notification. • In addition to this server-side mass delete detection, whenever someone deletes more than 200 synced OneDrive or Team Site files at once from their device, the OneDrive sync client will prompt the user to confirm it was intentional. If it was accidental, the user can tap Restore Files to bring them back, otherwise tapping remove will delete them as usual. If a user wants to skip the new behavior, they can select the Always remove files box before tapping Remove to skip the prompt for future mass deletes.

  14. Block Download for Office files in OneDrive • Users will be able to share a link to a file that prevents the recipient from downloading it (they can only view on the web).

  15. Management of Files On-Demand Storage Sense via GPO • With Windows 10 Version 1903, admins can enable Storage Sense automated cleanup of OneDrive files via a GPO. • System Settings > Storage > Configure Storage Sense

  16. Message Center Preferences

  17. Change a Site Collection URL • This command starts a rename of a site on a SharePoint Online site into a new title, name and URL. Also allows you to simulate the run using the -WhatIf parameter as well as -SuppressWorkflow2013Check and SuppressMarketplaceAppCheck switch parameters. Start-SPOSiteRename [-Identity] <SpoSitePipeBind> [-NewSiteUrl] <string> [[-NewSiteTitle] <string>] [[-SuppressMarketplaceAppCheck]] [[-SuppressWorkflow2013Check]] [[-Reserved] <string>] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>] https://docs.microsoft.com/powershell/module/sharepoint-online/start-spositerename?view=sharepoint-ps

  18. Site Swap • Admins will be able to swap the location of a SharePoint root site with another site using a new PowerShell cmdlet Invoke-SPOSiteSwap. • Swaps the location of a source site with a target site while archiving the original target site. • When the swap is initiated, the target site is moved to the archive location and the source site is moved to the target location. • You must use the SharePoint Admin PowerShell version 16.0.8812.1200 or later.

  19. Not Yet: Enable communication site at the root site of a tenant • Allows admins to enable the modern communication site experience at the root site of a tenant. • This experience will provide a new modern home page with horizontal navigation and the full width pages. • The initial roll out will place some restrictions on the root sites where this experience can be enabled. • Details will be available closer to the roll out. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=46338

  20. Organization Assets • Digital assets can help you tell a more dynamic story. Organization assets lets you register one or more document libraries via PowerShell as a special source for images, such as photos and logos, across all sites. • Organization assets libraries are available when you add images to the title region, page details thumbnail, or various web parts (image, image gallery, file viewer, hero, and quick links) from the “your organization” tab.

  21. New Page Authoring Features (1/3) • Button & Call to Action   • The Button web part and Call to action web part allow you to engage your page viewers through curated experiences. For these new web parts, you can provide some enticing text on a button that can load content you want the page viewer to consume. Furthermore, with the Call to action web part you can provide explanatory text or a background image to further draw the attention of your page viewers. • World clock & Weather updates • We’re adding a new World clock web part and making some changes to the Weather web part. With these updates you can now choose between adding individual cities/locations or adding a collection of cities/locations to either web part.

  22. New Page Authoring Features (2/3) • News gets hero tiles as a layout • You’ve seen the Tiles layout in the Hero web part, and you have asked us to bring that layout to the News web part. So, we did! You can find it as a new, available layout in the News web part property pane. • Hero gets second call to action link for large tiles • In the Hero web part, many of our customers have asked for a way to have two links per larger tile. The primary link goes to the content, while a secondary link encourages employee engagement and discussion via different channels.

  23. New Page Authoring Features (3/3) • Highlighted content with custom query filtering • We’ve also heard that some people would like the ability to add AND/OR clauses within their queries, as well as referencing custom properties they’ve applied to their content. All of this is now possible with the new custom query option as you can add your own KQL or CAML code. • Divider updates to allow controlling of the length and weight of the divider • In responding to feedback, we’ve made some small changes to the Divider web part that could have big impact on the visual layout of your pages. You can now control the length and weight of the added divider.

  24. Create SharePoint lists from Excel or other lists To create a list from Excel, you can select a table from your most recent Excel files in SharePoint or OneDrive.  You can change the field type of the column if needed, and all your table data will be copied to the new lists. You can create a list from all existing lists within any site where you’re an editor.  When the new list is created, the entire list structure is copied, including forms, formatting, and custom metadata columns.   (Content will not be copied.)
