  1. ArcView GIS Interface to WinTR-20 Hydrologic Model

  2. NRCS Geo-Hydro web sites • Non-NRCS: Download Version 1.0 at web site: • http://www.wsi.nrcs.usda.gov/products/W2Q/H&H/Tools_Models/GeoHyd.html • NRCS: Contact IT staff to install software • Download sample GIS data at web site: http://www.wsi.nrcs.usda.gov/products/W2Q/H&H/Tools_Models/GeoHyd.html March 2009

  3. NRCS Geo-Hydro web site • Download 3-page Fact Sheet • Download software and data bases • Download sample GIS data for three locations March 2009

  4. General Steps in Application • Prepare data to a common projection and cell size (98.425 feet), prepare hydrologic soil group layer. • Run NRCS Geo-Hydro interface to build input file and get a first WinTR-20 run. • Import data file to WinTR-20 Controller/Editor and make refinements, calibrate, analyze alternatives, etc. March 2009

  5. Steps in running NRCS Geo-Hydro • Open NRCS Geo-Hydro and add GIS data. • Locate the design point. • Delineate the watershed. • Subdivide the watershed. • Obtain rainfall frequency data. • Determine Tc parameters. March 2009

  6. Steps in running NRCS Geo-Hydro • Determine channel geometry coefficients. • Compute drainage area, CN, and Tc. • Determine channel reach length and rating table. • Assemble network of sub-areas and reaches. • Create WinTR-20 input data file and run WinTR-20. March 2009

  7. Open NRCS_Geo-Hydro.apr March 2009
