  6. A hint about what will happen next is called foreshadowing For example, if you hear this: Then you know someone’s about to get eaten!

  7. The time and place of the story is the setting

  8. The climax is the point in the story when the main conflict comes to a peak!!

  9. The point of view is the perspective of the story (first or third person) “I was framed! I just wanted to borrow a cup of sugar!” “That rotten wolf tried to eat us!!!!”

  10. Mood is the feeling the story creates

  11. Theme is the central message or insight to life revealed by the work • Love conquers all! • You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. • Appearance isn’t necessarily reality
