  3. Auxiliary Member History • 2002 Study reviewed Auxiliary Members’ needs • 2004 BoD approved creation of AMAC • 2011 BoD authorized Auxiliary Member study relative to bylaws change • 2012 Referendum to allow Auxiliary Members full voting privileges on August ballot

  4. Auxiliary Members Value Added • Auxiliary Member votes – potential 17% increase in votes on national-level issues • In our Chapter System: 750 Auxiliary Members hold leadership positions as chapter officers or board members

  5. Auxiliary Members Value Added • Fill vacant leadership positions • Manage and organize events, fundraisers, and special projects • Advocate and educate on MOAA legislative issues (local, state, and national level) • PR and Community Outreach to increase MOAA and Chapter visibility • All councils and chapters encouraged to recruit an Auxiliary Liaison (Auxiliary Member or Spouse)

Auxiliary Liaisons Cell Phones For Soldiers • Goal: 1 Million minutes free talk time for deployed troops (16,667 phones) • Result: 1,761,480 minutes free talk time (29,358 phones) • 76% over goal • 85 Chapters participated with 77% of the projects led by an Auxiliary Liaison. • Auxiliary Liaisons led the project in 11 of the top 15 chapters.
