  2. Background • Last reorganized in 2006 under VCU 2020 • Center for Institutional Effectiveness • University College • BOV approved additional two goals of Five-Year Diversity Plan November, 2010 • Quest for Distinction approved by BOV May 2011

  3. Supporting Quest for Distinction • Quest for Distinction presents a mandate for the promotion of academic quality and student success in the context of a premier, urban public research university. • The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs : • Recruit and retain talented and diverse students • Recruit and retain talented and diverse faculty, staff and senior leadership • Provide quality education; engage students in learning • Become a national model for community engagement • University-wide: • Implement Five-Year Diversity Plan • Implement and manage Quest accountability

  4. Theme I Goal A. • Recruit and retain talented and diverse students who will graduate at a higher rate and will contribute to a highly skilled workforce
