  6. Two ways to accomplish • Way 1: Find the least common denominator and combine like terms. • Always separate the coefficient from the variable first! • PUT RIGHT NEXT TO THE VARIABLE! • To UNDO the fraction coefficient: • MULTIPLY BY THE RECIPROCAL

  7. Way 2: Multiply first to clear the equation of fractions. • Multiply each piece of the equation by the LEAST COMMON DENOMINATOR. • Then follow the steps to get the variable alone.
