  1. Sample Event Timeline • 8:30-9:00 Employees arrive. Give final instructions to crew as to what to expect. Employees can begin by greeting the kids and getting them situated. • 9:00 Students arrive. Staff member checks them in and gives them a t-shirt or chef jacket, apron, chef hat and name badge. Students change in the restroom. • If parents have not filled out the photo release, have some available to sign at dropoff. • 9:20 Explain the following: How the day will work. Explain the safety rules including wizard gloves. Do everything that your leader tells you to do. No horseplay, kitchen etiquette, “Behind you!”, proper hand washing techniques. • 10:00 Kitchen prep begins. • 11:45 Show plate and samples are set-up on the tables in the café. Photos taken. • 12:00 Judging starts - move through each student, ask questions & sample the snack. • 12:45 Ballots are collected and tabulated. • 1:00 Awards ceremony. • Gift bags, medals and certificates handed to the students. • Gold medal for the overall winner, silver for the 4 runner-ups & bronze to the rest of the participating students.
