  3. Huck and Jims connection I believe that the common goal between Huck and Jim is that the are both running from their “masters.” Huck running from his dad and Jim from his master. This is why Huck and Jim are so similar and share the connection they do, because they are both in the same position and therefore, they understand each other.

  4. Huck • Huck is running away from his fathers abuse. • Much like Jim running from his masters abuse. • Huck is also sacrificing himself to help Jim because if he gets caught helping Jim escape slavery, he would be in major trouble.

  5. Jim • Jim is running away from slavery and his masters rules. • Although Huck and Jim aren't really family, Jim would give up his life to save Huck. He thinks of Huck as his son.

  6. The Mississippi • As I said before, Huck and Jim have a special connection because they both face the same daily challenges of being run-aways. I think that the Mississippi River is a symbol of their freedom because, they always end up together back on the Mississippi. No matter what they go through, they always find each other and go floating down the Mississippi on their raft.
