  2. What are the functions of HR? The HR function consists of tracking existing employee data which includes personal histories, skills, capabilities, recruiting, accomplishments and salary. To reduce the manual workload of these administrative activities, organizations began to electronically automate many of these processes by introducing specialized Human Resource Management Systems.

  3. What is Human Resource Mgmt Systems (HRMS)? • This software application helps employers take care of a host of human resources functions using just one handy tool. Rather than tracking employee attendance in one database program and employee performance reviews in another, an employer can use HRMS to consolidate all of that data into one convenient employee profile system.

Payroll module • automates the pay process by gathering data on employee time and attendance, calculating various deductions and taxes, and generating periodic pay cheques and employee tax reports. • Data is generally fed from the human resources and time keeping modules to calculate automatic deposit and manual cheque writing capabilities. This module can encompass all employee-related transactions as well as integrate with existing financial management systems.

Talent Management & Recruitment: • refers to the process of developing and fostering new workers through onboarding, developing and keeping current workers and attracting highly skilled workers to work for your company. -onboarding: another word for recruiting highly skilled leaders/associates.

These companies develop plans and processes to track and manage their employee talent, including the following: • Attracting and recruiting qualified candidates with competitive backgrounds • Managing and defining competitive salaries • Training and development opportunities • Performance management processes • Retention programs • Promotion and transitioning

Talent Management systems typically encompass: • analyzing personnel usage within an organization; • identifying potential applicants; • recruiting through company-facing listings; • recruiting through online recruiting sites or publications that market to both recruiters and applicants.

A corporate career site or website module may be offered, allowing companies to provide opportunities to internal candidates prior to external recruitment efforts. Candidates may be identified via preexisting data or through information garnered through other means. This data is typically stored for search and retrieval processes • The proposed benefit of an applicant tracking system is analyzing and coordinating recruitment efforts - managing the conceptual structure known as Human Capital.
